What it is

Rosemary Extract (Rosmarinus Officinalis) is a botanical concentrate rich in two exceptionally potent antioxidant compounds: carnosic acid and rosmarinic acid. Used for thousands of years in Mediterranean medicine, rosemary has been validated by modern research as one of the most effective natural antioxidants and preservatives available. In skincare, it serves a dual role — protecting the skin from oxidative damage and protecting the formula itself from degradation.

How it works

Carnosic acid is an activated antioxidant — it becomes more potent when exposed to free radicals, making it uniquely efficient at neutralizing oxidative stress exactly when and where it occurs. Rosmarinic acid provides anti-inflammatory protection by inhibiting complement activation and lipoxygenase pathways. Together, they create a multilayered defense: carnosic acid scavenges radicals, rosmarinic acid calms the inflammation those radicals trigger. As a natural preservative, rosemary’s antimicrobial and lipid-stabilizing properties prevent oxidation of oils and active ingredients in the formulation — extending shelf life without synthetic preservatives.

dual function — rosemary protects your skin from oxidative damage AND protects the formula itself from degradation, without a single synthetic preservative.

Rosemary Extract in Our Formulations

Rosemary extract skincare is the rare ingredient that works both inside the bottle and on the skin. As a rosmarinus officinalis concentrate, its rosemary antioxidant power comes from carnosic acid skin protection — an activated antioxidant that gets stronger when exposed to the very radicals it neutralizes. This rosemary anti-inflammatory action calms UV and pollution damage at the source. As rosemary oil for skin, it stimulates rosemary circulation for better nutrient delivery to skin cells. And as a natural preservative skincare ingredient, it stabilizes oxidation-sensitive actives like Vitamin C, Vitamin E, and Squalane — keeping them potent from first drop to last. Combined with Bisabolol for calming synergy, Aloe Vera for soothing hydration, and Sunflower Extract for linoleic acid delivery — all on a Ceramide 3 foundation. Why we chose it

Every ingredient in a serum is only as good as its stability. Rosemary extract does something no other single ingredient can: it protects the formula from oxidation while simultaneously protecting the skin. When Vitamin C, Vitamin E, and squalane are at risk of degrading, rosemary’s carnosic acid prevents it. When UV-generated free radicals attack the barrier, rosemary neutralizes them. Paired with Ceramide 3, it creates a formulation that stays potent in the bottle and active on the skin.
